Chandigarh, Dec. 6 -- A 20-year-old BA third-semester student of Panjab University (PU) succumbed to injuries two days after she met with a road accident near Sector 15. The deceased has been identified as Amrita Negi, a resident of Kalpa in Kinnaur district of Himachal Pradesh. She was a student at the Department of Evening Studies, PU. The accident took place on the stretch between the liquor vend and petrol pump in Sector 15, when Amrita reportedly collided with a Chandigarh-registered sports bike. Police said she sustained critical internal injuries in the crash. She was immediately rushed to Government Multi Specialty Hospital, Sector-16 by the police, accompanied by the boy riding the bike, who remained at the spot after the accident. However, despite medical efforts, Amrita remained unresponsive and passed away. Police have initiated an investigation to determine the circumstances of the crash, including whether speeding or negligence was involved....
