India, Dec. 31 -- First announced in 2009, themultipurpose auditorium at Panjab University was envisioned as a major cultural and academic venue.Why it matters: The auditorium will host large academic events, conferences andcultural programmes on campus. With a seating capacity of over 2,400, it will have a main auditorium with three smallseminar halls able to accommodate 130 to 600 people. Challenges: While the construction began in 2012, the project has missed multiple deadlines - in 2019, August 2021 and again in March 2025. Administrative delays and execution issues have prolongedconstruction for over 15 years.Where it stands: Fifteen years on, the structure remains incomplete. Varsity authorities, however, are hopeful and claim it is expected to be completed by March 2026....
