PSPCL snaps supply to BJP office over Rs.1.37-lakh dues
SANGRUR, Nov. 23 -- The Punjab State Power Corporation Limited (PSPCL) has disconnected the electricity supply to the BJP office in Sangrur over outstanding dues of Rs.1.37 lakh.
PSPCL executive engineer Varinder Deepak said action has been taken against all the customers who have over Rs.50,000 in outstanding dues.
Sub-divisional officer, Pankaj Garg, added that the pending amount dates back to January this year. "The BJP office had made only two-part payments in 2025, 20,000 on March 20 and Rs.30,000 on October 6. The entire bill for 2025 is pending. Moreover, the pendency dates back to October 2024," Garg said. Garg added that various defaulters in Sangrur city owe PSPCL close to Rs.1.5 crore.
