Patiala, June 23 -- A 45-year-old property dealer, his wife and his son were found dead with bullet injuries inside an SUV on the Banur-Mohali road near Changera village in Patiala district on Sunday, a police officer aware of the matter said. Rajpura deputy superintendent of police (DSP) Manjit Singh said: "It appears like the man first shot his wife and son and then himself." A group of workers who were in the area to install a tubewell found the bodies in the SUV parked near a field in Changera village and alerted police, he said. The man was found in the driver's seat with a pistol in his hand, his wife on the front passenger seat and his son in the back seat, the DSP said, adding that all three had bullet wounds to their heads. He said that he reached the spot with a forensic team. "The incident is believed to have taken place around 4pm on Sunday. Police completed on-site proceedings by around 8pm and shifted the bodies to a mortuary for the post-mortem examination, which is scheduled for Monday," the DSP said. When the bodies were found, the engine of the car was still running, air conditioner was on, doors were unlocked and no suicide note was found, he added.
