Chandigarh, May 14 -- Quality education, health care centres, women safety, 24-hour water supply, and slum rehabilitation are issues that figure on the manifesto of professor Devi Sirohi, an independent candidate from Chandigarh. Releasing her manifesto on Monday, Sirohi said, "My priority will be quality education and creating better infrastructure at the primary, secondary and higher levels." Sirohi is a former professor of history at Panjab University, a former president (the first woman to do so) of the Panjab University Teacher Association (PUTA) and an elected member of the Senate. She advocates Metro as a solution to traffic congestion.
