Power lines passing over schools, hospitals to be shifted, says Vij
Chandigarh, May 8 -- Haryana energy minister Anil Vij on Thursday said that power lines passing over schools, colleges, hospitals and other public institutions will be shifted in a phased manner.
Vij said a dedicated cell, chaired by the chief engineer, will monitor the execution of work related to the shifting of power lines and submit a progress report every 15 days.
"The Uttar Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam Limited (UHBVN) has already constituted such a cell in Panchkula and has identified 27 locations for shifting 33 kV electricity lines, for which approval has been granted. Of these, shifting of 21 lines has been completed," Vij said.
Similarly, the power utilities have identified 1,299 locations for shifting 11 kV electricity lines passing over schools, colleges, hospitals and other public institutions, he said Of these, 1,116 lines have been shifted, while work to shift 183 lines was in progress. HTC...
