Dehradun, Dec. 28 -- Senior superintendent of police (SSP) Dehradun Ajai Singh on Saturday held a meeting with hotel owners, operators and event organisers to review security and safety arrangements ahead of New Year's Eve and New Year's Day celebrations in the district. The meeting was convened at the auditorium of the Police Office in Dehradun on Saturday afternoon, with a focus on crowd management, fire safety and law and order in view of the large gatherings expected at hotels, resorts and other venues. The SSP issued clear instructions to ensure that all safety norms are strictly complied with before organising any event. Singh directed all establishment owners to conduct fire safety audits and ensure that firefighting equipment is in proper working condition. He also warned against playing loud music beyond the stipulated time limits and instructed organisers to strictly adhere to noise pollution norms.The SSP asked hotel and event managers to ensure adequate parking facilities for visitors and deploy a sufficient number of trained security guards at their premises.
