India, April 22 -- India's growing fascination with Korean culture is set to take a significant leap, as the two countries plan an India-South Korea Friendship Festival in 2028. What began as a niche interest has now evolved into a mainstream movement, especially among Gen Z, driven by K-pop, K-dramas, food, and skincare.
Highlighting this cultural momentum, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke about deepening ties during a joint press conference with South Korean President Lee Jae Myung in Delhi on Monday. In his address, he noted that while Korean pop culture is rapidly gaining popularity in India, Indian cinema and culture are also finding a growing audience in South Korea, signalling a growing two-way cultural exchange between the nations.
