Panchkula, Jan. 7 -- Passengers travelling through the Chandigarh Railway Station are advised to plan ahead as platform number 1 will remain non-operational for 15 days, from January 20 to February 3. The closure has been scheduled by the Rail Land Development Authority (RLDA) to facilitate the construction of the remaining foundation for the air-concourse roof structure, a key feature of the ongoing world-class station redevelopment project. During this period, all trains typically arriving at or departing from platform 1 will be diverted to other platforms, and their operations may be subject to regulation or minor schedule changes. Passengers are encouraged to reach the railway station well ahead of time, and verify their train's current platform status and latest schedule before beginning the journey. Train status can be verified through Toll-free helpline 139 or the station enquiry counter. Notably, the Vande Bharat Express (20977-20978) will be shifted to platform number 6 for the duration of the closure and will continue to operate from there in the future as well. In total, the arrival/departure platforms for 32 trains have been changed, with services shifted from platform 1 to platforms 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6. The affected trains include six Shatabdi Express services and two Vande Bharat trains....
