Chandigarh, Feb. 11 -- In yet another incident of pre-dawn crime, a 28-year-old man was stabbed and robbed of Rs.4,000 by three unidentified motorcyclists near Tribune Chowk around 4.25 am on Monday. The victim, Tushar Sharma, a resident of Sector 29-B, said he was on foot when the trio waylaid him and demanded money. When he resisted, one of them stabbed him on the leg before snatching his wallet and speeding away. Passersby alerted the police, after which Sharma was taken to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), Sector 32, where he is undergoing treatment. Doctors said his condition is stable. A case has been registered under Section 309 (6) (robbery) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. No arrests have been made so far. Sub-inspector Baljeet, who is the investigating officer, said teams are scanning closed-circuit television (CCTV) cameras from nearby areas and routes leading towards Tribune Chowk to identify the accused. "Raids are being conducted and the suspects will be traced soon," he said. Police suspect the attackers were involved in similar incidents of late-night robberies in the area....
