Dera Bassi, Sept. 25 -- Four people, including the owner, died after a commercial building under construction collapsed in Meera Milli Mohalla, Dera Bassi, on Thursday morning.
The bodies of three labourers were recovered from the debris in a three-hour rescue operation, while the owner, Haridev Singh, 72, succumbed to his injuries at Government Medical College and Hospital in Sector 32, Chandigarh.
The labourers were identified as Gopi Chand, 60; Raju, 46; and Ramesh Sardara, 45, all migrants hailing from Bihar.
Mohali deputy commissioner Girish Dayalan has ordered a magisterial inquiry to be conducted and closed by sub-divisional magistrate (SDM) Kuldeep Bawa within 10 days.
