Orange alert: Brace for storm today
Chandigarh, May 29 -- A moderate thunderstorm affected Panchkula, Kalka and some parts of Chandigarh in the evening on Wednesday.
As per the India Meteorological Department, the wind speed recorded was 40-60 km per hour. The maximum temperature on Wednesday rose to 38.9, from 37.7 degrees Tuesday.
The minimum temperature remained 29 degrees. An orange alert for Friday has been issued with prediction of thunderstorms and gusty winds at isolated places upto 50-60km per hour speed. Chandigarh director Surinder Paul said in the month of June they are expecting maximum temperature to remain below normal while minimum temperature will be slightly above normal. For this week, IMD has forecasted maximum temperature to remain below 40 degrees. On Thursday, maximum humidity remained at 67%, a 9% low than Tuesday's 76%....
