One held for extortion after shootout in Jind
Rohtak, Dec. 18 -- The Crime Investigation Agency (CIA) of Jind police arrested a criminal on Tuesday in connection with firing incident outside a cloth shop in Narwana on December 14 and demanding an extortion of Rs.50 lakh from the shop owner.
Narwana CIA in-charge Sukhdev Singh said that they arrested the accused Anoop, a resident of Belarkha village after exchange of fire from near Datta Wala village border in the district. "Anoop fired shots at us and a bullet also hit my bullet-proof jacket. In retaliation, when we returned the fire, the accused was injured in the leg. He is currently undergoing treatment in a civil hospital and is out of danger," Singh added....
