One arrested for double murder
NEW DELHI, April 19 -- The Delhi Police on Saturday arrested a 43-year-old man in connection with the double murder of a father-son duo at Tara Apartments in Alaknanda on Friday, officers said on Saturday.
Police also said the motive behind the murders was not a parking dispute, but a persistent monetary dispute over a loan taken by the son from the accused. Additional commissioner of police (south) Aishwarya Singh said, "The accused, a resident of the same apartment complex, has been arrested."
Police said they received information around 9.30pm on Friday from a private hospital about three men admitted to the facility with stab wounds. Two of the victims, Rakesh Sood, 62, and his son Karan Sood, 27, were declared dead. "Their relative, Rahul, is under treatment. As the victims had approached police with their complaint, we had taken action and detained him in preventive action," deputy commissioner of police (south) Anant Mittal said.
Rakesh's elder brother, Rajesh Sood, 65, said the father-son duo returned home around 6.15pm and the entire incident unfolded within minutes. Family alleged that the attack was preceded by months of tension and confrontation about 6 months ago.htc...
