Nuh, Nov. 19 -- A female stage performer and two dancers were assaulted during a pre-wedding function in Pachgaon, Tauru on Sunday. The incident occurred when two women were dancing on stage and the groom's uncle allegedly approached them and made obscene gestures. According to people present during the incident, one of the women slapped him, after which he struck her back. A video of the incident that has been circulated widely online, several men can be seen climbing onto the stage and surrounding the women. One of the dancers is pushed to the ground and beaten with a stick, while two other performers are attacked as they attempt to shield her. A man who tried to intervene on their behalf was also assaulted. The dancers were eventually rescued by members of their troupe. Following the assault, multiple dancers took to social media to denounce the harassment and violence they face during public performances. One dancer from Nuh alleged that the woman was deliberately targeted and urged people not to shame performers for speaking out. "These artists should not be defamed. They are someone's sisters and daughters and should not be trolled," she said. Another performer alleged that women from the accused man's family witnessed the behaviour but did nothing. She alleged that the woman was touched inappropriately while money was being offered. "First, obscene acts were made and then they were beaten. If they are raising their voice against the wrong done to them, what is wrong in that?" she said. According to police, teams are examining the video footage and statements posted online, and further action will be taken as the investigation progresses. Nuh police are conducting an investigation and they will record statements and register a case for the same....
