NSUI expels 4 members for anti-party activities
Chandigarh, Sept. 4 -- After an embarrassing drubbing in the Panjab University Campus Student Council (PUCSC) elections, four members of National Students Union of India (NSUI), including former campus president Anurag Dalal, were expelled from the party. Interestingly, Dalal had just rejoined NSUI on August 19.
He was accused of backing independent candidate Sumit Sharma, who had jumped ship from the NSUI. NSUI Chandigarh in-charge Dilip Choudhary issued him a show-cause notice.
In a dramatic turn of events, NSUI national president Varun Choudhary relieved Dilip of his post. Dilip had issued the expulsion notices to Dalal, former PUCSC vice-president Archit Garg, Chaitanya Ror and Sagar Khatri even before the counting officially concluded. Ror and Archit were accused of supporting the newly formed Hindustan Socialist Republican Association. Khatri had contested for the post of joint secretary. He got 1,093 votes against winner Mohit Manderana's 3,138 votes.htc
