Neha Dhupia backs Deepika amid row over working hours in Spirit
India, June 11 -- A
ctor Deepika Padukone's exit from director Sandeep Reddy Vanga's upcoming film Spirit - allegedly over her request for an eight-hour workday- has ignited conversations around work-life balance in the film industry. While Deepika has not publicly commented, several inthe industry have voiced their support, including actor Neha Dhupia.
Taking to Insta Stories, Neha tagged Deepika and wrote, "For work-life balance to go beyond conversations, new mums need practical support and consideration. Instead, we often get shamed or sidelined. As a working mom, I support (Deepika's) reasonable request for fair working hours."
Earlier, actor Ajay Devgn and filmmaker Mani Ratnam also called the actor's reported demands "rightful".
Deepika's decision to walk out of Spirit followed Vanga's alleged refusal of several of her conditions including a profit-sharing arrangement, and opting out of speaking her lines in Telugu. Following her exit, Vanga announced Triptii Dimri as the female lead and took a veiled dig at Deepika's PR team in a tweet accusing them of leaking the film's storyline.htc...
