Dehradun, Nov. 4 -- President Droupadi Murmu while addressing a special session of the Uttarakhand assembly in Dehradun to commemorate the Silver Jubilee of the formation of the state on Monday, said Uttarakhand must move forward on the path of development while preserving the gifts of nature. "Uttarakhand is endowed with unparalleled natural resources and beauty. The state must move forward on the path of development while preserving these gifts of nature," she said. She also congratulated all residents of the state on the Silver Jubilee of Uttarakhand. Murmu asked the state lawmakers to rise above party politics in work related to development and public welfare and show sensitivity for the welfare of the underprivileged sections of society. "I request that you all carry forward the work of development and public welfare with complete dedication. Such works are above party politics. You should all work with special sensitivity towards the welfare and development of the underprivileged sections of society. Also, providing opportunities for development to the younger generation should be your priority," Murmu said. The President said legislators are the most important link between the people and the government and state's 25-year journey of development has been possible only through the contributions of its legislators. "I hope that you will all continue to actively represent the aspirations of the people," the President said. Murmu said youth should be given priority and provided employment opportunities for their growth. She also appreciated Uttarakhand for implementing the Uniform Civil Code.
