Ludhiana, Oct. 25 -- A local resident, already facing murder charges and out on bail, was arrested on Thursday along with his aide Harminder Singh for possession of illegal firearms and drugs, police said. Vishal had earlier been arrested in 2022 for allegedly thrashing a minor to death at the civil hospital. Although granted bail in that case, he has now been caught in another serious crime. During a routine check near Uchi Mangli Road, crime branch personnel stopped Vishal and Harminder Singh, who were on foot. A search led to the recovery of a locally-made .315-bore pistol, a live cartridge and 100 grams of heroin. Police said Vishal admitted that after securing bail in the murder case, he purchased the firearm to threaten his rivals in the city.
