MP Meet Hayer elected PCA secretary
Mohali, March 22 -- Sangrur MP Gurmeet Singh Meet Hayer was elected unopposed as the secretary of the Punjab Cricket Association (PCA) during a special general body meeting (SGM) held at the New International Cricket Stadium in Mullanpur.
The election was conducted under the supervision of electoral officer Jagpal Singh Sandhu, who formally declared Meet Hayer elected to the post.
Hayer said he was humbled by the trust placed in him and reaffirmed his commitment to strengthening cricket in the state.
"I am committed to ensuring that cricket reaches even the remotest regions of Punjab. Together, we will work towards building a robust cricketing ecosystem that not only produces outstanding players but also upholds the spirit and integrity of the game," he said, while seeking continued support from stakeholders.
Meet Hayer has previously served as a sports minister in the Punjab government.
Earlier, during PCA's annual general meeting on July 12 last year, MLA Kulwant Singh was elected unopposed as secretary; however, he resigned 13 days later, citing personal reasons.
