Chandigarh, July 23 -- Mount Carmel School under the esteemed guidance of the founders and directors, Earnest Charles Samuel and Annie Charles Samuel, and with the support of the principal Praveena John Singh, conducted a workshop on the occasion of World Population Day. The workshop was organised in collaboration with the State Legal Services Authority (SLSA) and aimed at sensitising students about the growing concerns related to population and the legal provisions available for citizens, especially women, under the Indian legal framework. The session was facilitated by interns from SLSA : Khushbu from Universal Institute of Law, Simranjot Kaur and Mehak, both from Chandigarh Group of Colleges. The facilitators shared insightful information about the National Legal Services Authority (NLSA) and State Legal Services Authority (SLSA). They also discussed the SAKHI Helpline, introduced the concept of Moot Court, and elaborated on women's legal rights and the provisions under the Bhartiya Naya Sanhita. The principal emphasised that such workshops play a vital role in raising awareness among students.
