More dust storms, rain on the anvil
Chandigarh, May 17 -- After overnight and morning rain, Friday ended on a sunny note.
But the rain did cause the maximum temperature to drop from 41.7degC on Thursday to 39degC on Friday, normal for this time of the year. The minimum temperature, however, dropped sharply from 25.3degC to 19.8degC, 5.3 degrees below normal. This was the lowest since 19.5degC on May 6.
A total of 4.8 mm rain was recorded overnight and another 2.4 mm rain later in the morning, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD).
Chances of dust storms will continue over the weekend, while more rain is likely around Monday, as a fresh Western Disturbance will affect the city, as per IMD.
