Chandigarh, Sept. 16 -- As the rain-battered city awaits monsoon's withdrawal, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast chances of light rain on Tuesday. Even on Monday, trace rain (less than 0.1 mm) was recorded in parts of the city. However, the showers on Tuesday may be the last before monsoon exits the region by the end of this week, as per IMD. The monsoon system has already started retreating from parts of Rajasthan, and is expected to exit Punjab and Gujarat in the next two to three days. As the sun shone bright on Monday, the maximum temperature climbed from 33.6degC on Sunday to 34.3degC, 1 degree above normal. The minimum temperature also rose from 24.8degC on Sunday to 25.7degC on Monday, also 1 degree above normal.
