Mohali, Jan. 21 -- Two people lost their lives in separate road accidents in Mohali on Tuesday. In the first case, the victim, identified as Karan Singh, 72, a resident of Dayalpur (Dera Bassi), was riding his Activa scooter and had stopped at the traffic lights when a speeding truck hit him from the back. His head was crushed under the wheels of the truck, killing him on the spot, police said. Following this, the truck driver abandoned the vehicle and fled the scene. The second accident took place near Jhanjheri village, where Satpal Singh, 51, a resident of Rampur village, died after being hit by a speeding car. Satpal Singh was riding his motorcycle to Mohali on Tuesday morning to report for duty as a security guard. Family members alleged that Satpal lay injured on the road for a long time and when he was taken to the hospital, doctors declared him dead on arrival at the hospital. Cops are on the lookout for the drivers in both cases....
