Mohali MC's finance panel clears Rs.67-crore civic work orders
Mohali, July 3 -- The finance and contract committee (F&CC) of the Mohali Municipal Corporation met on Wednesday to review and clear various development proposals.
During the meeting, held under the chairmanship of mayor Amarjit Singh Sidhu, work orders amounting to Rs.67 crore were issued for previously approved projects, including road repairs, while new estimates worth Rs.4 crore for maintenance of parks and installation of paver blocks were also sanctioned.
Several of these projects are already underway across Mohali. In addition to road resurfacing on major and internal roads, the committee also approved works related to desilting of sewer lines, cleaning of road drains and other infrastructure development initiatives.

In several areas, roads are being scraped before the application of the premix to ensure that their height does not increase unnecessarily. "Instructions have been issued to the officials to monitor all ongoing works closely to ensure there is no compromise on quality," said Sidhu.
Also present in the meeting were municipal commissioner Parminder Pal Singh, senior deputy mayor Amrik Singh Somal, deputy mayor Kuljit Singh Bedi, F&CC members councillor Jasbir Singh Manku and Anuradha Anand, chief engineer Naresh Batta, and other senior MC officials.HTC...
