New Delhi, Feb. 25 -- The Union Cabinet, chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, on Tuesday approved the extension of the North-South corridor of the Gujarat Metro from GIFT City to Shahpur. The decision was taken to improve connectivity in the region and support economic and commuter needs The approved extension will cover a distance of 3.33 kilometres and include three elevated metro stations. The project is planned to be completed in approximately four years. The estimated cost of the extension project is Rs.1,067.35 crore. According to government, the extended corridor is expected to benefit about 23,702 passengers by 2029 and around 58,059 passengers annually by 2041. The network has a total of 53 stations.htc...
