Chandigarh, May 18 -- The brief respite brought about by light rain and cool winds over the past couple of days ended on Saturday, with the sun returning in full glory. Amid the clear weather, the maximum temperature breached the 40degC mark again, rising from 39degC on Friday to 40.8degC on Saturday, 0.1 degree above normal. The maximum temperature is further expected to soar to 42degC on Sunday, giving no respite from heat to residents. The minimum temperature also saw a sharp increase from Friday's 19.2degC degrees to 26degC, one degree above normal. However, the weather is expected to take a turn again as the new week arrives. The Indian Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert for Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, predicting thunderstorm/lightning and gusty winds up to 50 km per hour in isolated parts of the city....
