Mental health week celebration held at The SD Vidya School
Ambala Cantt, Oct. 23 -- On the occasion of World Mental Health Day, The SD Vidya School observed a week-long celebration from October 4 to October 10, dedicated to promoting emotional well-being, mindfulness, and the importance of mental health among students and parents.
The series of thoughtfully planned activities encouraged reflection, awareness, and the development of a supportive and empathetic school environment.
A special workshop on mental health was conducted, emphasising the value of breathing techniques, yoga, and meditation in maintaining calmness and balance during challenging times.
Students explored practical strategies to overcome overthinking and negative emotions-described as "mental viruses" that disrupt peace of mind.
The session inspired all to embrace the philosophy of "Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara," encouraging mindfulness, positivity, and living in the present moment.
Teachers and students took an oath to safeguard mental health, while students also wrote about the stigmas and stereotypes they wish to overcome and eliminate from their lives.
Throughout the week, a range of enriching activities took place, including a Cooking Without Fire Competition and Well-being Sensitization sessions for Classes 6-7, along with Self-Reflection Activities for Classes 1-8. A workshop on Mental Health for Classes 9-12 focused on emotional resilience, stress management, and positive parenting.
Additionally, a Video Telecast of "Sahyog & Paricharcha" further deepened understanding of mental well- being and empathy....
