Meghalaya murder: two held in MP
Indore, June 23 -- A special investigative team (SIT) of Meghalaya police arrested two people from Madhya Pradesh for allegedly destroying evidence in connection with the murder of Indore-based businessman Raja Raghuvanshi, police officers said on Sunday.
A senior police officer, requesting anonymity, said that the two accused - property dealer Shailam James and security guard Balwinder Ahirwar - allegedly burnt a bag containing Rs.5 lakh, a pistol, and other incriminating items recovered from a flat where Raja's wife Sonam Raghuvanshi stayed after the murder.
Raja was murdered by three men in Sohra on May 23 during his honeymoon. Sonam, accused of conspiring with her alleged lover to kill her husband, surrendered on June 8 before the police in Ghazipur district of UP.htc...
