Chandigarh, Nov. 3 -- In a move to promote transparency, the proceedings of Chandigarh municipal corporation's General House meeting on Monday will be streamed live online for public viewing. Citizens can join the meeting through the official YouTube channel - @mcchandigarh. They can also visit the official website, www.mcchandigarh.gov.in, for additional information. The meeting will begin at 11 am at the Assembly Hall in MC Office, Sector 17. Welcoming the initiative, mayor Harpreet Kaur Babla expressed her gratitude to Punjab governor and UT administrator Gulab Chand Kataria for approving the live telecast and e-proceedings of the monthly MC House meetings. Calling it a landmark step towards transparency and accountability, Babla said the decision will empower citizens and strengthen democratic values by bringing every discussion and decision into the public domain.
