New Delhi, June 12 -- It turned out to be a disappointing day for Indians at the ISSF Munich World Cup with Manu Bhaker (25m pistol) and seasoned Chain Singh (50m rifle 3P) making early exits in the final. Double Olympic medallist Bhaker showed her class in the qualification as she shot a brilliant 298/300 in the rapid-fire round to make it to the final. She was in 15th place after the precision round (290) on Tuesday. Asian Games medallist Esha Singh, on the other hand, was placed fourth after the precision stage (294) but fell back to 11th in the second stage (291). Manu, with a total of 588, qualified at fourth place but was unable to carry the momentum in the final. Manu began well with 11 hits after the third series (five shots each). However, she missed three in the fourth series and could not pick herself from there. It was a high quality field that included two Olympic champions from Korea -- Yang Jiin (25m pistol) and OH Yejin (10m pistol) besides two top Chinese shooters -- Sun Yujie and Yao Qianxun. Chinese Yujie has been on fire this season. She won gold medals in Buenos Aires and Lima, and on Wednesday made a hat-trick of titles adding the Munich stage title. She won gold with 38 points with the two Koreans -- Yejin (36) and Yang (32) taking home silver and bronze. Bhaker will be next in action in the 10m air pistol in which she won an individual Olympic bronze. She has been in good form and won air pistol silver in the ISSF World Cup in Peru in April....
