Karnal, April 20 -- A day after a man was shot dead in Karnal's Nissing, his family members on Sunday blocked Karnal-Kaithal highway, demanding arrests. On Saturday, Suraj, 25, was shot dead by three bike-borne assailants in Gondar village. He was out on bail for the past eight months in connection with a 2019 murder case in the village. The family alleged that the attack was the result of an old rivalry and accused five persons for the murder. On Sunday, his family members parked tractors on the road demanding arrests of the accused. However, after assurance from Assandh deputy superintendent of police (DSP) Gorakhpal Rana, the protestors lifted the blockade. "One accused has surrendered and police are making raids to arrest the others," the DSP said....
