Gurugram, May 22 -- A 40-year-old man was charred to death on Tuesday evening after his car overturned multiple times and caught fire when it was hit by a detached rear axle with four wheels from a trailer truck on the Delhi-Mumbai expressway in Haryana's Nuh district, police said on Wednesday. The incident took place between 7.30pm and 8pm on the expressway stretch between Ujina and Ferozepur Jhirka, police said, adding that the flames were doused after nearly two hours. Inspector Kuldeep Singh, SHO of Sadar Nuh police station, said the deceased was identified as Yashaswi Sharma, a Noida resident. "The Maruti Suzuki Wagon-R burst into flames, probably due to a petrol leak," Singh said. The trailer truck was found abandoned at the spot. On Wednesday night, police arrested the driver, Raghubir Singh, 35, a resident of Rajasthan. An FIR was registered at Sadar Nuh police station against the truck driver under sections 106 (causing death by negligence) and 281 (rash driving) of BNS.
