Man held with three stolen mobiles in Panchkula
Panchkula, July 23 -- Crime branch team has apprehended a repeat offender following a mobile theft case of July 19. The accused, identified as Rishav Rawat is a resident of Sector 12-A. The victim, Dharmendra Kumar Verma, in his complaint reported that his mobile phone was stolen by an unknown person early in the morning of July 19, after he slept at a dhaba in Sector 11.
Police registered a case under Section 303 (theft) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita BNS. CCTV footage during the investigation also revealed that two other mobile phones were also stolen from a nearby dhaba the same night.
Police recovered all three stolen phones based on Rawat's confession. Investigations show that Rawat is a habitual offender with four prior theft cases registered against him. Police said that Rawat was out on bail and committed the crime. He was presented in court on Tuesday and remanded to judicial custody....
