Mohali, Feb. 27 -- Zirakpur police have arrested a man for allegedly raping a 25-year-old woman on the pretext of marriage in Mohali. In her complaint, the woman stated that the accused had been assuring her of marriage for some time. When she later asked him to proceed with the marriage, he allegedly backed out. Feeling deceived, she filed a police complaint. Police registered a case under Section 69 (sexual intercourse by deceitful means or false promise to marry) of the BNS and initiated an investigation.
