Dehradun, Oct. 5 -- A candidate was detained on Saturday for allegedly submitting three applications using different mobile numbers for another UKSSSC exam for cooperative inspector, and Assistant Development Officer (ADO), which was earlier scheduled to take place on October 5, Dehradun police said. This comes days after the Uttarakhand Subordinate Service Selection Commission (UKSSSC) graduate level exam alleged paper leak, which prompted the state government to order a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) probe. The accused was identified as Surendra Kumar (30), a resident of Ghaziabad in Uttar Pradesh. According to police, he submitted fake educational and permanent residence certificates with his applications. The FIR was registered against Kumar at Raipur police station under sections 318 (4) (Cheating and dishonestly inducing delivery of property), 336 (3) (Forgery for purpose of cheating), 340 (2) (Using as genuine a forged document or electronic record) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) on the complaint of inspector, SOG, Mukesh Tyagi. Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Ajai Singh said, "Regarding the October 5 exam, the UKSSSC had submitted an application asking us to investigate a candidate who appeared suspicious after a review of the applicants' data. In our probe, we found that the accused, Surendra Kumar of Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh, had submitted three different application forms using three different mobile numbers." "It was revealed that the candidate had registered for three different centres by using fake certificates. He attached forged documents to gain an undue advantage. Following this, we registered an FIR against him and detained him from Ghaziabad," Singh added. "During interrogation, Surendra Kumar disclosed that he is originally from Modinagar, Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh, and currently resides with his parents and wife in Hapur. He holds a BA degree and works as a private teacher in a school in Pilkhua, Hapur, where his wife also teaches.He revealed that his actual date of birth is April 1, 1988, and that he completed his intermediate education in Ghazipur, Uttar Pradesh, in 2007. However, after crossing the age limit for government employment, he returned to Ghazipur in 2012 for high school and in 2014 for intermediate education, altering his date of birth to January 1, 1995," the SSP said. According to police, Surendra also completed a BA from Rajasthan in 2012 and another BA in 2018 from Solan, Himachal Pradesh. On September 21, the Uttarakhand Berozgar Sangh alleged that the question paper of the UKSSSC graduate level exam held on September 21 was leaked by 11.30 am - half an hour after the beginning of the exam, and demanded to cancel the exam and order a CBI probe. It came to light during the CBI probe that an accused, Khalid, appeared for the graduate level exam at a Haridwar centre and sent photographs of three pages of the question paper using a mobile phone to the mobile phone with his sister, who then transmitted them to Suman, an assistant professor in Tehri Garhwal.
