Man booked for attacking father-in-law with knife
Mohali, Jan. 22 -- Police have registered a case against a man for allegedly attacking his father-in-law with a knife at his residence in Zirakpur, leaving the victim seriously injured.
According to the complaint, the victim works in agriculture and had married off his daughter to the accused, identified as Chandandeep. The victim alleged that his daughter's in-laws had been repeatedly demanding money from him.
Police said the incident took place on January 10, when the victim went to Zirakpur to meet his daughter. He tried to contact his son-in-law over the phone, but received no response. The victim then went to the accused's house and questioned him about not answering the calls. The complaint states that the accused allegedly became aggressive, picked up a knife and struck the victim from behind on his face.
The police registered an FIR under Sections 115(2) and 117(2) of the BNS....
