Mohali, Oct. 16 -- Police have booked a man on Tuesday for allegedly assaulting his two neighbours in their 60s in Dashmesh Nagar, Nayagaon following an argument that turned violent. According to the complainant, the accused, Ankit Choudhary, approached the basement area of his building around 7 pm, where he found two men sitting and chatting. He allegedly began shouting at them, accusing them of engaging in "wrong activities." When they objected to his behaviour, Choudhary reportedly started abusing and physically assaulting them. The victims, identified as Prakash Chand and Jagat Singh, sustained minor injuries and later approached the police to file a complaint. The Nayagaon police said they have registered a case under sections 115(2) (voluntarily causing hurt) and 126(2) (wrongful restraint) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). The accused has not been arrested so far. Investigative officer Ashwani Kumar from the Nayagaon police station said, "We have registered a case and are verifying the sequence of events. Appropriate action will be taken based on evidence."...
