Man arrested with illegal weapons
Mohali, Nov. 26 -- A history-sheeter involved in multiple criminal cases across Punjab and Haryana, was arrested by the Mohali state special operation cell (SSOC) on Tuesday.
The accused was identified as Harmeet alias Meeta. Police recovered a .32 bore pistol, five live cartridges, and seized a black Verna car used by him.
The SSOC team raided the Mataur area and arrested the accused after receiving information that he was planning to commit a crime in Mohali. Harmeet said he is involved in earlier cases of dacoity, Arms Act and NDPS Act in Bathinda, Barnala and Rohtak. He told police that he was in contact with Canada-based Prabhjot Singh Natt alias Prabh Sialka, who receives directions from handlers abroad. He said he received foreign money from Sialka to support illegal activities. SSOC is probing the network and other persons linked to the operation. A case was registered under the Arms Act and Section 61(2) of BNS at SSOC police station. htc...
