Rudrapur, May 4 -- Udham Singh Nagar district administration on Saturday demolished a madrasa allegedly built on government land, officials aware of the development said. "A madrasa in Kichha town was demolished by the district administration. The madrasa management was served notice to produce relevant documents about the structure but the management concerned failed. It was built on government land therefore the action was taken," said Manikant Mishra, senior superintendent of police (SSP), Udham Singh Nagar. The administration had served a notice to the management to produce relevant documents. The notice period ended on Wednesday and when the management failed to produce the documents, the administration arrived with police and JCB at around 5am on Saturday and razed the structure.
