Ludhiana's Meher Sandhu shines at Harvard MUN conference in Sydney
India, June 11 -- Sacred Heart Convent International School recently participated in the Harvard Model United Nations (HMUN) Australia 2025 conference. This Future Leaders Programme curated by Worldview Education was held in Sydney from May 28 to June 4 and marked an extraordinary journey of learning, leadership and global engagement.
Notably, Meher Sandhu received the 'Outstanding Delegate' award in the simulation of the United Nations Environment Programme committee and the school's delegation was honoured as the 'Best International Delegation', recognising its exemplary performance.
The programme commenced with a structured orientation and team-building activities, including an insightful visit to the Sydney Observatory, setting a reflective and ambitious tone for the programme.
The second day featured academic exposure to The University of Sydney and a preparatory visit to the HMUN venue. Delegates then engaged in three intensive days of committee sessions, demonstrating diplomacy, collaboration and critical thinking.
Beyond the conference, students experienced Australian culture and history through visits to the Consulate General of India, the Australian National Maritime Museum and The Rocks. The group also explored Sydney's natural and urban beauty, from the Blue Mountains and Featherdale wildlife park to Vivid Sydney, concluding at the world-famous Opera House.
This journey has fostered personal growth, global awareness and strengthened intercultural bonds. The students returned with new perspectives and aspirations and thiws experience stood as a transformative chapter in their development as future leaders.
