Ferozepur, Dec. 28 -- A 54-year-old lineman was electrocuted to death while carrying out repair works on an electricity pole in Jhoke Harihar village of Ferozepur district on Saturday. His colleague sustained severe injuries. The deceased has been identified as Lalmen, a resident of Jhoke Harihar. He is survived by his wife Sunita Devi, two sons and two daughters. According to information, Lalmen was repairing some fault along with his colleague Davinder Singh when the power supply resumed all of a sudden, resulting in the mishap. Davinder was the first one to receive an electric shock. He fell from the pole, suffering severe injuries, but Lalmen remained trapped on the pole, leading to his immediate death. The body was shifted to the civil hospital's mortuary for a post-mortem examination. Davinder Singh was rushed to a private hospital. He is stated to be stable. Lalmen's wife Sunita Devi alleged negligence. She said he was the sole breadwinner of the family. She said the PSPCL should ensure justice and extend financial assistance.
