Leaves cancelled, schools, colleges shut in Punjab
Chandigarh, May 9 -- Amid escalating tensions between India and Pakistan, Punjab has announced the closure of schools, blackouts in many districts, and cancellation of leave of police personnel and health department officials. Punjab education minister Harjot Singh Bains, in a post on X, said, "In view of the evolving situation, it is hereby ordered that all schools, colleges and universities in Punjab shall remain shut for the next three days."
