Leaders in Delhi responsible for violent stir in leh, says Farooq
Srinagar, Sept. 26 -- National Conference (NC) president Farooq Abdullah on Thursday came down heavily on the BJP-led Union government over the mob violence in Ladakh even as he called forthe Centre to hold talks withthe people of the UnionTerritory and address their concerns.
"We, the nation itself, the leaders in Delhi are responsible for what has happened in Ladakh. They kept on talking without putting anything in front. So, what do you expect those young people to do..." Abdullah said. "...If such unrest continues here, it is dangerous for our nation. Please make efforts to resolve this quickly and take the path of dialogue without delay."
Opposition leaders blamed the BJP for violent protests that took place in the UT on Wednesday. The violence claimed the lives of four people.
"The BJP assured the leaders, council members and representatives of Ladakh that statehood and powers would be restored. Profiteering is not the only form of corruption, breaking promises is corruption too," SP chief Akhilesh Yadav said.
J&K CM Omar Abdullah also criticised the BJP, saying, "The government (in Ladakh) is theirs. When they fail, they blame someone else."...
