Mussoorie, July 4 -- Landslides triggered by rains disrupted the movement on the Char Dham Yatra routes on Thursday, officials aware of the matter said. The Kedarnath Yatra was temporarily suspended after heavy overnight rains triggered landslides at multiple points between Sonprayag and Gaurikund, blocking the route for several hours. Teams from the public works department (PWD) were deployed, and the road was cleared, allowing the yatra to resume, officials said, adding that the pilgrims crossed the affected stretch with assistance from the SDRF, police, and disaster response teams. Meanwhile, the Badrinath national highway was also hit by landslides in multiple areas. In Uttarkashi, the Yamunotri Highway was closed after landslides at several points. The Gangotri Highway also suffered damage, with a 10-meter section near Bhatwari caving in due to land subsidence. BRO teams restored traffic later in the day. In Rudraprayag, the Alaknanda and Mandakini rivers rose above warning levels.htc...
