Mohali, Oct. 24 -- Zirakpur police have registered a case after five labourers were allegedly assaulted and stripped by a group of men on VIP Road early on Thursday. Police said the incident occurred around 5 am when the victims, residents of Bhudda Sahib village, arrived for work. A group of nine to ten men, including two identified residents of VIP Block-B, allegedly attacked them without provocation. The labourers told police that the accused beat them up, stripped them, abused them and issued death threats before fleeing. Police teams reached the spot and took the injured labourers for medical treatment. Based on their complaint, a case has been registered against two identified and seven unidentified men under Sections 115(2) (voluntarily causing hurt) and 126(2) (criminal intimidation) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, along with Section 75 of the Juvenile Justice Act.
