India, April 19 -- Khushpreet Singh, a five-year-old KG student and son of dairy owner Lakhbir Singh, was kidnapped from near his house at Burail village in Sector 45, Chandigarh, on December 21, 2010. After his family received a call for Rs.10-lakh ransom, police launched a search, issued lookout circulars, pressed a large number of personnel to hunt for the boy, but drew a blank. The police came under fire as the kidnappers slipped away with Rs.4 lakh when the trap to arrest them failed on December 23, 2010. Two weeks after his kidnapping, Khushpreet's body was recovered from a bag dumped in a pit in Phase 10, Mohali, on January 5, 2011....
