Kochi, Aug. 14 -- Higher education minister of Kerala, R. Bindu, on Wednesday said that colleges and universities in the state have been advised not to observe 'Partition Horrors Day' on Thursday (August 14), an instruction that directly contravenes a circular issued by chancellor Rajendra Arlekar. The issue is expected to become another flashpoint in the deteriorating State-Raj Bhavan relations. "It is the opinion of the State government that the 'Partition Horrors Day' need not be observed in colleges across the state on Aug 14," the higher education minister said. "We have issued instructions in this regard to colleges and universities via Directorate of Collegiate Education (DCE) and Directorate of Technical Education (DTE). Campuses and universities in the state are home to students from diverse backgrounds...," she added....
