Mussoorie, June 17 -- Several parts of Uttarakhand experienced light to moderate rainfall and scattered thunderstorms over the past 24 hours. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), this weather pattern is expected to continue until June 22. From June 21 to 22, all districts in the state are expected to witness widespread rainfall and thunderstorms, indicating an extended and active monsoon phase, the IMD stated. Bikram Singh, director of IMD's Dehradun centre, said: "Light to heavy spells of rain accompanied by thunderstorms are likely over Uttarakhand between June 17 and 22. The official declaration of monsoon's arrival in the state will be made soon." In Rudraprayag district, the Kedarnath Dham trek route, which was partially obstructed on June 15 after debris and boulders flowed into a stream near Junglechatti due to heavy rainfall, has been fully restored.
