Kapurthala youth killed by cousin over money dispute; three held
Kapurthala, Oct. 19 -- After nearly two months of investigation, Kapurthala police cracked a blind murder case and arrested three persons, including the cousin of the deceased, in connection with the killing of a 22-year-old youth.
The victim, Imam Hussain, a resident of Kala Manju village, was found dead in a pool of blood on the roadside in Aujla Jogi village on September 10. Police have revealed that the murder was orchestrated by his cousin, Saif Ali, who allegedly hired two contract killers for Rs.20,000 to execute the crime.
SP Prabhjot Singh Virk said that during the investigation, police apprehended one of the accused, Ramandeep Singh, who confessed to his involvement. He disclosed that he and another accused, Yakub Ali, were hired by Saif to eliminate Hussain over a financial dispute. He added that sharp-edged weapons, which were used in the crime, have also been recovered.
